This opening hole is a Par 4, slightly dog-legging to the right. The tee shot is blocked on the right hand side by a mature oak tree, while the left hand side is protected by a fairway bunker. The green is surrounded by bunkers forming a narrowed entrance. The green itself is generally flat, however, there is a slight slope at the front which can provide a challenging pin position.
